Wonder Woman (Imruer's DCCU)

Wonder Woman is a 2019 superhero action film based on the DC Comics' character, Wonder Woman. The film focuses on the young daughter of Hippolyta, named Diana, and her introduction to the outside world as a superhero, as well as the concept of the formerly-believed "mythical" Gods of Ancient Greece (and Rome, separately) to be real. This film is the second in the DCCU, though it takes place first, chronologically.

Plot[]

In Themyscira, Queen Hippolyta gives life to a child: Diana, named the princess of the Amazons. Though taught all her life of the dangers of man's world, Diana finds herself longing for a life beyond the island. Man's world does, however, sneak into Diana's life, in the year 1995--when the god of war, Ares, threatens world peace with his manipulative ways. To save humanity, Queen Hippolyta sets up a contest between the Amazons to determine a champion who will set out to stop the thermonuclear war. Diana, disguising herself so that she may enter the competition, faces off against a handful of warriors: Artemis of Bana-Mighdall, Nubia, and more. When Diana comes out victorious, she is forced to reveal herself. Her mother refuses to let her go, but her fellow Amazons protest. Finally, the queen gives in, armoring Diana with what was once Hippolyta's own battle gear from the 1940s. Diana heads out, facing many challenges such as Ares' own sons: Phobos and Deimos. Among Diana's greatest struggles, however, is handling her partner on this mission, the demigod son of Zeus, Herakles. Together, the two warriors take on Ares in his final form in the streets of Gateway City, California. Though Herakles is knocked aside before the battle gets too intense, Diana manages to defeat Ares, ending the war altogether.
