Superman is a 2013 American live-action superhero film set in the DC Extended Universe. It is the first film in the DCEU and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman, Alison Brie as Lois Lane, and Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor.
Plot[]
With the emergence of a super-powered vigilante known as Superman in Metropolis, Mayor Schuster makes a deal with wealthy Metropolis-based scientist Lex Luthor to develop a defense system against any super-powered threats they may face. Studying a sample of Superman's blood left behind after a fierce battle, Luthor finds that Superman's alien DNA is highly vulnerable to a rare green mineral known as Kryptonite, which was recently discovered by Lex himself. Meanwhile, reporter Lois Lane and photojournalist Clark Kent of the Daily Planet are ordered by Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White to investigate rumors about Superman, with both Lois and Perry unaware that Clark is secretly Superman.
