Lycus is the demigod son of Ares, the god of war. He is one of Wonder Woman's greatest foes.
History[]
Lycus was born in Libya as an heir to the throne around 3,000 years ago. When he reached adulthood, he became the king of the country, and demanded his subjects worship only his father, Ares. Eventually, Lycus was killed in battle, but he was later resurrected by his father.
When he tried to reclaim his kingdom, however, he was confronted by Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl. Though he put up a good fight, Lycus was ultimately defeated and brought to Mount Olympus. Zeus had him sent to a prison where he would spend eternity.
Eventually, Lycus escaped this prison and attacked the Teen Titans with his Hellhound and a small squadron of loyal warriors from his days as king. Though this plan failed, Lycus would continue to antagonize Cassie, even when the girl grew into Wonder Woman.
