Wonder Woman has been recognized as one of the world's greatest heroes following the events of Justice League. Now settled in Boston with her boyfriend, Steve Trevor, Diana protects the streets as Wonder Woman. Barbara Minerva, an archaeologist turned into the Cheetah, a god-like creature with enhanced speed and durability, discovers Wonder Woman holds the Lasso of Truth, an item that Minerva has been obsessed with since childhood. Vowing to add the item to her collection, Minerva travels to Boston with the intent to kill Wonder Woman and retrieve the Lasso. When Cheetah goes out of control and ends up attacking the city of Boston, with a new goal to kill anyone close to Wonder Woman, it's up to Diana to suit up and defeat this new threat.
Angelo Bend, the Angle Man, returns home to his apartment after his defeat at the hands of Wonder Woman. Inside his apartment sits Vandal Savage; Angelo's father. Savage grabs a knife and puts it up to Angelo's throat, angered that Wonder Woman was not killed. Angelo gasps that she was too strong, before being pushed over onto the floor by Savage. Savage roars that if he wishes to take over the world, then the Justice League need to get out of the way. As he leaves, Savage threatens to kill his son Angelo if he fails to help his father defeat the Justice League.
